Long Description PacaPomo is a unique Free to Play productivity game that seamlessly blends real-world work with fun, engaging gameplay. Inspired by the alpaca farms in Peru, take on the role of Naida who commits her summer to caring, feeding, and training her lovable alpaca companions. With the Pomodoro timer, manage your real-world tasks as you expand your farm and tend to your alpacas in a balance of work and play.

Help Naida cultivate her farm and make some new alpaca friends all while staying focused and productive. | | Extended Description | PacaPomo is an experimental cross between a productivity app and a farming game. Our objective is to create a cozy farming game for busy students and working professionals to play while going about their daily routines and responsibilities. The game revolves around using a Pomodoro Timer - a technique where a person sets a goal to focus for 25 minutes, and then break for 5 minutes, allowing for them to stick to a schedule and improve their concentration. This may be especially beneficial to those with ADHD, that thrive off gamifying chores and tasks.

PacaPomo provides rewards for completing Pomodoro Timers by progressing time on the farm and giving Sol - a currency solely used for adopting new alpacas and expanding the farm. New alpacas are unique, bespoke characters that have different personalities and stories. They are acquired randomly through adopting from the Alpaca Sanctuary, giving players a sense of excitement for each new addition to their farm.

Players are allowed to choose from a slider their focus and break times (25 - 150 minutes for focus, 5 - 30 minutes for break) and the rewards scale according to amount of time completed. We also have advanced options like adding long breaks, auto-switching to the next Pomodoro, and plan to add more features to our pomodoro to allow for as much player freedom and ease of use. There is also a report card that tracks daily, weekly, and monthly progress.

After completion of a Pomodoro work session, crops will grow, new Alpacas can be adopted, and the occasional event pops up for interaction. There are also terraces on the farm, which can be unlocked using PacaPomo's currency which allow the player to expand their play space and unlock new mechanics and features - some include an orchard, a training gym, and a pond. We will continue developing the game past launch to add more activities, Alpaca characters, and farm progression, which will offer players engagement long-term.

In today's fast-paced world, many struggle to balance work, responsibilities, and leisure time. PacaPomo aims to address this challenge by offering a free, fun and accessible way for people to relax and unwind while also being productive. | | What makes your game wholesome? | PacaPomo is a cozy farming game designed to be a motivating but kind experience. It includes cute adorable alpacas to adopt and care for, and a little farm to grow crops in and customize. The player can progress at their own pace by setting their preferred Focus session times and breaks as there are no significant time pressures. We've kept this a cozy, comfortable experience. There are little to no punishments if focus sessions are not completed, but plenty of rewards for people who are engaging with the game. | | Intended Impact of Project | After completion of a Pomodoro work session, crops will grow, new Alpacas can be adopted, and the occasional event pops up for interaction. You essentially progress in the game only through working on tasks in real life!

As our days become busier and busier, we find it difficult to find time for relaxation and video games. We want to give students and workers a way to enjoy cozy farm games without having to commit hundreds of hours to play. PacaPomo is designed to be a fun, bite-sized game that encourages healthy productivity and accommodating to busy schedules.

We also wanted to see if we could create a game that could benefit people with learning disabilities like ADHD or struggle with motivation or concentrating. The gamified approach allows players to feel rewarded while working through tedious or difficult work in real life, helping users stay on track with goals.

Overall the intended impact of PacaPomo is to promote a healthier, more balanced approach to productivity and leisure while also providing a positive fun experience. In that way, we are supporting. | | Inclusion Summary | PacaPomo is a game that honors and uplifts elements of Peruvian and Andean culture through design, worldbuilding and music. While the team is developed by a diverse predominantly-women team based in the U.S., our devs are committed to inclusion and authentic representation consulted by native Peruvians.

Inspired by Andean Alpaca farms, PacaPomo incorporated cultural details such as local crops, traditional Peruvian dishes, and environmental elements reflective of the region. These touches create a vibrant immersive experience that celebrates the culture while resonating with players worldwide.

Our soundtrack is a standout feature, created in collaboration with Peruvian musicians who incorporate authentic native instruments like the charango and panpipes. These traditional sounds are skillfully blended with modern lo-fi elements, offering a contemporary yet culturally grounded experience. We hope this fusion highlights the beauty of Peruvian music and also provides a global platform for appreciation.

Through our efforts, we hope PacaPomo can showcase the rich culture of Peru and uplift local musicians while serving seamlessly as an engaging tool for players. | | Press-Worthy News | PacaPomo is a cozy, Free to Play productivity game made by the Saturday Boys, a small dev team of four students and fresh developers in the industry.
